[miningmx.com] – RANDGOLD Resources said it had advised employees not to travel to areas affected by the Ebola virus, nor to bring workers on site from the affected areas.
The Ebola virus had claimed the lives of 887 people in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria since February. National air services from British Airways and Emirates Air had halted flights to Monrovia and Freetown in Liberia and Sierra Leone respectively.
“The company continues to monitor the situation closely through the various international and national health organisations,” Randgold Resources said in a statement.
