Acacia signs $1m Burkina Faso exploration deals

[miningmx.com] – ACACIA Mining has extended its exploration activities in Burkina Faso’s Hounde Belt after signing two agreements, equal to $1m 2015 expenditure with Canyon Resources, an Australian firm, and Toronto’s Thor Explorations.

Acacia will manage the exploration programmes on both of these new earn-in projects. Total planned exploration expenditure this year is forecast to be $20m.

“These agreements are the continuation of our strategy to build substantial land packages in the most prospective geological belts in Africa,” said Bradley Gordon, CEO of Acacia Mining (formerly African Barrick).

“We are looking forward to commencing our exploration programmes on the properties and we will continue to assess exploration opportunities throughout West Africa that further support our long term growth strategy,” he said.
