
[miningmx.com] – ESKOM’S multi-billion rand capital programme was progressing well with the commissioning of Medupi unit 6 and the Sere wind facility allowing the utility to undertake maintenance on its existing fleet, said BDLive.
“Eskom is continuing with its capacity expansion programme‚ the largest in our history. This new build programme includes the construction of two coal-fired power stations‚ Medupi and Kusile and a pumped storage scheme — Ingula,” it said.
“Eskom’s focus is on fast tracking this capacity build programme in order to lessen the pressure on the power system‚” the power utility said on Sunday.
