Congo seeks access to Angola’s Lobito

[miningmx.com] – THE Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is hoping to ship copper through Angola’s Lobito port with the railway companies of both countries meeting about establishing a plan for the linkage, said Bloomberg News.

“To move towards the opening of the Lobito corridor, a meeting is expected in the coming weeks between SNCC and CFB in order to define in the short term the minimal conditions of starting up,’ Patricia Nzondjou, director of finance and investment at the DRC’s state-owned company, Societe Nationale des Chemins de Fer du Congo, told Bloomberg News.

“We’re planning a meeting between the SNCC and miners as well,’ she said.
