Wellesley-Wood to chair Mwana Africa

[miningmx.com] – MARK Wellesley-Wood, the former CEO of DRDGold who was instrumental in ousting the Kebble family from the company, has been made non-executive chairman of Mwana Africa, the UK-listed firm announced.

“Mwana Africa is now entering a new phase of its development focusing on operational delivery from its two mines in Zimbabwe and the development of the Zani Kodo gold deposit in the DRC,” said the firm’s CEO, Kalaa Mpinga.

“Mark’s considerable operational and corporate experience will greatly assist us in delivering the maximum value from these assets,” he said.

Wellesley-Wood, who was previously a director of Investec’s investment banking and securities in London, replaces Oliver Baring at Mwana Africa.
