[miningmx.com] — FORMER Sasol CEO Pat Davies has been appointed as non-executive director to the board of BHP Billiton, the company announced on Monday.
Davies’ appointment would be effective from June 1. He was the CEO of Sasol from July 1, 2005 until his retirement on June 30, 2011.
“Pat’s appointment is a welcome addition to an already strong board,
providing additional experience in the oil and gas industry in particular,” said Jac Nasser, BHP’s chairman. “His corporate experience in the natural resources sector across a number of geographies, commodities and markets, will ensure a significant
contribution to the board.
Davies’ appointment brings the total number of BHP’s non-executive directors to 12.
