[miningmx.com] – ANGLO American Platinum (Amplats) said full-year earnings would be 480 cents to 590 South African cents a share. The company incurred a loss in the previous financial year.
Amplats said it encountered lower dollar metal prices as well as one-off restructuring costs of R1.4bn and a write-down of R2.8bn on assets and projects.
Sales volumes were higher year-on-year whilst a weaker rand/dollar exchange rate contributed towards improved earnings.
