[miningmx.com] – NUCLEAR energy would play a part in South Africa’s future energy mix, said BDLive citing comments by the country’s newly appointed energy minister, Tina Joemat-Pettersson.
Speaking at a New Age business breakfast on Wednesday, Joemat-Pettersson said: “Nuclear will be used. This certainty has been lacking until now.”
Her comments follow South African president Jacob Zuma’s State of the Nation Address on June 17 in which he said the government would redouble its efforts in having the national grid supplied by nuclear energy.
