
[miningmx.com] – A GROUP of Russian investors have laid plans to build a 600,000 ounce a year platinum mine in Zimbabwe, said Bloomberg News citing people familiar with the situation.
Vi Holding and state corporations Rostec and Vnesheconombank have formed a consortium that will develop the Darwendale resource, the second largest platinum deposit in the country, at a cost of about $3bn, said the newswire service.
Darwendale holds 19 tons of platinum equivalent in proven reserves and 755 tons of probable resources, said Bloomberg News.
