[miningmx.com] — Metorex, the base metals mining group, on Tuesday said a planned shutdown to carry out essential maintenance at the Ruashi Mine in the Democratic Republic Congo (DRC) had been completed.
The shutdown, which was necessitated by a transformer electrical fault, took place late May.
With production curtailed to 70% of capacity, the shutdown had an impact on the
company’s June quarter production.
Copper production for the quarter is estimated at 7,257 tonnes while cobalt
production is expected to be 762 tonnes.
