Pan African agrees to 11% wage hikes

[miningmx.com] — PAN African Resources has concluded negotiations with the National Union of Mineworkers (Num) on wages and other conditions of employment.

According to a one-year agreement, Pan African has agreed to an average wage increase of 11% across the board.

Employees would furthermore receive an increase to their housing allowance, from R1,100 per month to R1,300 per month, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

These increases are effective from July 1 2011.

Pan African is not a member of the Chamber of Mines and as it has successfully concluded the wage negotiations will not be affected by any strike action by the Num.
