SOUTH Africa’s Chamber of Mines said it had enlisted the Deloitte Tip-Offs Anonymous, an anonymous reporting channel for unethical behaviour in the workplace.
“It is globally recognised that the most effective source of information to combat fraud is a whistleblowing hotline,” said the Chamber in a statement. “Having an independent hotline to report unethical or criminal behaviour will help us to strengthen the Chamber’s first line of defence in combatting fraud,” it added.
The Deloitte Tip-Offs Anonymous service is an independent, confidential whistleblowing hotline service that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year. “Whether you’re an employee, member, supplier or manager, you can now report fraud and inappropriate activities at the Chamber in a safe, confidential and secure way,” it said.
