
[miningmx.com] – THE 885MW Kudu gas-to-power project planned for Namibia was on track despite opposition from a lobby group, said Sapa in an article that was republished by Fin24.
“It is a national project and will achieve Namibia’s aim of self-sufficiency of power supply,” said Erastus Kahuure, permanent secretary in the mines and energy ministry at a press conference attended by Sapa.
“We are aware it is a complex project on the upstream and downstream side and Tullow’s pull-out will not impact project development timelines,” said Kahuure. UK group Tullow Oil had earlier pulled out of the project.
