Tsotsi given time to prepare defence

[miningmx.com] – ZOLA Tsotsi, Eskom’s chairman, would be given time to prepare his defence after the utility’s board turned against a previously sanctioned plan to conduct an internal inquiry, said BDLive.

The inquiry was preceded by the suspension of four of Eskom’s executives, including its CEO, Tshediso Matona, who has subsequently approached the Labour Court in an attempt to win a ruling that his suspension was unfair.

BDLive said that Tsotsi will defend his actions before Eskom’s board next week. It is understood that the board want Tsotsi out of the organisation even though the inquiry appears to have the support of South Africa president, Jacob Zuma.
