Dubai-backed FCF to take on market

[miningmx.com] – ALIBEK Issaev, a Dubai-based Russian businessman has joined forces with private ferrochrome business, Ferrochrome Furnaces (FCF) in an effort to boost production at FCF’s Rustenburg smelter to 420,000 tonnes a year.

BDLive said Issaev had teamed up with FCF owner Abbas Moti, with the aim of winning greater market share in the medium carbon ferrochrome market dominated by Russian and Kazakstan production.

Issaev will buy 50% in a deal that also involves Sir Sam Jonah, the former CEO of Ashanti Goldfields and chairperson of AngloGold Ashanti. Jonah is the non-executive chairperson of FCF, said BDLive.
