
[miningmx.com] – SOUTH Africa’s gold producers confirmed widely expected news that they had signed new, two-year wage deals with the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) with entry-level workers set to receive an 8% increase, BDLive reported.
The agreement includes inflation-linked increases on July 1 next year while workers’ monthly living-out allowance will be raised to R2,000 in two tranches of R180 each, the online publication said.
